Can Grief and joy co-exist?

We’re feeling it.

The weight of sorrow swirling in and around us.

The aching for the world and the worry of what will come of everything.

These personal losses and the collective grief we’re feeling is a lot to carry.

We’re not meant to carry it alone.

Grief “scatters and shatters”. And it can feel so difficult to confront our grief and loss head-on. Sometimes it just feels easier to bury these painful experiences and “move on” with life (because the rest of the world keeps going) and because we worry that if we open up the floodgates, we may never be able to close them again.

But the reality is, the more we numb/shut down/ ignore/suppress, the more disconnected we become. This disconnection can show up personally with your own body/heart/mind or even with important relationships in your life. This is why entering in, in a safe container with others, is so important.

“Staying vulnerable is a risk we have to take if we want to experience connection.” – Brené Brown

We want to stay connected.

We want to resist the temptation to stay lonely, defeated, sad, or scared.

We want to be able to also hold so much JOY even amidst the losses in our world.

Our willingness to process grief and loss has a direct connection to the ability to hold beauty and goodness and joy alongside of the difficult realities in life.

So we are hosting the first workshop/mini-retreat to sit together as women, to share honestly, to honor our losses, to nourish our nervous systems, and look for joy, together.

Grief/joy circle

(a mini retreat)

is a safe and sacred container in which you we be together as women, honor our losses (both personal and collective), and experience simple and deeply nourishing practices to bring more grounding and peace to your body, mind, and soul. In our mini retreat, we will weave together conversation, honoring rituals, and embodied practices to honor your story and invite beauty and hope into our stories. You’ll find solace in a community of kindreds who will witness your heart, honor your journey, and reflect back to you the truth that nourishment and healing can happen when we come together as women.

We’re your hosts: Bianca and Abby and we would love to meet you here- in the messy middle of life with grief and joy always at play.
